A chuisle mo chroí…

2 posts in a row on the topic of poetry isn't exactly guaranteed to get "bums on seats", but I thought I should make mention of Cuisle 2005, the Limerick City International Poetry Festival, which runs from the 18th-22nd of October (in various locations around town).

Though I admit (alas) that I'm not exactly a regular attendee at the weekly "White House Poetry Revival", I'm still very glad that such events/happenings exist for the benefit of those more appreciative than I.

The Cúirt festival in Galway started from humble (and exclusively 'poetic') beginnings, but now finds itself a recognised highlight of the country's festival calendar. So best wishes (and long life) to Cuisle, and hats off to the good people who've made it possible.

You never know…I may even get off my lazy arse and attend a few readings…
