Thanks Armin,

I think the time will come when I’ll have to travel to the source. I have a friend living in Beijing so perhaps I could combine a visit to him with a tour of the Manky Toy sweatshops.

Spending a week or two documenting the names and faces of the designers, line workers, factory overlords (etc) who keep the western world’s appetite for knock-offs satisfied would (surely) be time very well spent.

There’s a book (or a film) in there somewhere.

I don’t think I’ve seen it - though I do have a volume of the wonderful early episodes of Batman: The Animated Series on DVD.

Speaking of D’Incredibles - I rewatched it only the other night. There’s a film that just gets better and better with every viewing. The only thing in the Pixar canon that can touch it are, in me opinion, the 2 Toy Stories.

Best superhero movie ever made? Pretty damn close.

The Mask of the Phantasm is an actual feature length Batman cartoon. Needless to say, it didn’t star Spiderman and Mr. Incredible! Wish it had!
