I'd included him in the squad but was rather alarmed to find him spending his free time, <em>not</em> beside the pool playing cards with "de lads", but instead hanging around in bookies' offices cadging fags. Little did I realise that this was all in the name of research. The lad done good. He stuck out his leg and it went in the back of the net. One to watch for the future.
