Back on the Good Ship “Dreadful Thoughts”

This just in. Thanks to one of the many trans-dimensional portals opened by the CERN experiment I've managed to lock my homemade tractor beam onto something previously thought lost and irretrievably wrecked - the USS Dreadful Thoughts. Since it's disappearance into a quantum flux, back in early June, the universe (or that part of it knowable to us) has been starved of live, rapid-fire horror discussion. Many thought, quite understandably, that their lives would never know (morbid) joy or pleasure again.

Well cry ye not, gentle souls. This ship is ready to sail, fly and rock 'n' roll once more. We'll be following a "Classic Monsters" theme for the next few sessions - with vampiric and lycanthropic tales lined up to make you soil yourself and others. Precise details will be announced shortly.

For those who haven't missed Dreadful Thoughts, or even knew it existed, allow me to briefly sum up (by quoting myself) what the whole thing's about:

[We choose] an interesting horror short story available online that we can all pop off and read/ponder before returning at a set time to chew over and discuss. In other words, it's a short story version of a "book club".

The "set time" is usually every second Monday at 9.00 pm (Irish time). Have a look at some of the previous (seven) "meetings" for an idea of how it works. It's significantly less complicated (and less world-threatening) than designing a large hadron collider.

Come one, come all.

P.S: We have badges.1

Prompted by the Sapphire and Steel I’ve been watching I was wondering if you were open to submissions of empty house ghost stories?

Do you mean suggestions for stories we might discuss or a super-short story you yourself might write? Either way the door is firmly open.

Must get my arse in gear and put up details of the next tale o’er the weekend.

    Whoops, thought I’d missed one!
