My first thought artistically would be to switch things up a bit — away from the humanoid aliens —> micro-organisms, electronic intelligences, stuff like that

(away from the psycho-fantastic –> the quasi-scientific, drawing on biology and physics)

Ira, That’s what the Greys are up to these days. Implants are sooo 90s. It’s “abduct you from your bed and give you a full body tattoo” that’s all the rage now.

RE: Greetings Earthlings. It was born in a fevered burst of energy and died as quickly. I wanted to open it up to other contributors but the emails I tended to get were generally half-way between eccentricity and psychosis! The area does, of course, attract a lot of overly earnest nutballs.

The nuttiness I enjoy, but the earnestness I find awfully tedious.

Ira, Ta. You don’t draw or paint do you? If and when Greetings Earthlings gets revived I need all the artists (amateurs welcomed) I can get.

Gobsheen, You were bending my ear about “the logarithmic loss of sound intensity associated with a tuning fork following its monotonic performance” the other night at yer gig too. I tuned out.

The “adult” in the first picture seems (now I look again) to have just taken a leafy dump.

I suspect that you may have approached these murals from the wrong angle.
Taken from above, they could be interpreted as old fashioned clothes pegs or stumpy tuning forks (for those awkward lower frequencies) – in either case, the larger of the two benefits from additional grip.
The degradation and decay is consistent with the logarithmic loss of sound intensity associated with a tuning fork following its monotonic performance… or the damage sustained by clothes peg from bad weather and er… other damaging stuff.
